Tim Sparkman (R)

I'm a Bastrop County Sheriff Office (BCSO) Investigator seeking election for Bastrop County Constable, Pct. 3 in the 2016 Elections.  I'm a long time resident of Bastrop County, a graduate of Bastrop HS and a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard.  My wife Debbie and I have operated Bastrop Auto Glass doing mobile auto glass in Bastrop for over 10 years.  Our daughter, Tori, graduated from Cedar Creek HS and is currently attending Texas State University majoring in Criminal Justice. I've been employed with the BCSO for the past 16 years.  During this time, I've served as patrol deputy for 6 years before promoting to Criminal Investigator.  As Investigator, I've worked in many fields including narcotics, crimes against persons as well as property crimes.  I carry an Advanced Peace Officers License, have served as a board member for the Texas Narcotic Officers Association (TNOA) and as a Task Force Officer for the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive team.
My entire law enforcement career has been spent in Bastrop County.  I take great pride in serving the community in which I have chosen to live and raise my family.  I'm seeking your support in my run for the office of Constable, Pct. 3 to continue serving my community.  My background and experience, which includes countless professional relationships I've established over the years with numerous agencies across Central Texas, will enable me to serve the citizens of Bastrop County well.  I'm committed to continually improving services that the Constable's office provides as well as working closely with the Justice of the Peace and Commissioners to best serve our community.  If elected, I'll continue to provide fair, competent, moral and ethical service to the citizens of Bastrop County and honored to continue my law enforcement career as your Precinct 3 constable.

I have over 30 years’ experience as a police officer. I have a Bachelor’s degree from St. Edwards University in Criminal Justice. I have a Master’s Peace Officer Certification from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Education. I also hold a Firearms Instructor Certification from the state commission.

I started my career with the Austin Police Department. I have held the rank of Sergeant, Lieutenant and was honorably retired as a Captain with the Texas Office of the Attorney General. I have worked in patrol, criminal investigations and undercover narcotics. As a Captain in the Criminal Investigations Division, I supervised high level international drug trafficking and money laundering investigations across Texas, New York, Baltimore and Florida; and was deputized by the DEA and the FBI to work cases in Mexico, Colombia, Italy and Albania. I know police work from top to bottom, inside and out. I have experience with budgets, supervising personnel and all aspects of investigations and case management.

I am a mature, professional, experienced individual with integrity, honesty and compassion for the rights and dignity of all citizens.
